These dogs are great pets for apartment living, but they shed a lot twice a year, especially long-haired type. They cannot stand too cold and too hot climates and should be taken outside in a dog sweater or rain-coat, as they may die of cold. These dogs should be brushed gently every day to keep the coat clean and free of little tangles and bathed about once a month, but be careful not to get water in their ears.
