Puppies of equal size may have a twofold difference when they grow up. Some breeders apply smaller species in an attempt to produce smaller dogs to avoid birth difficulties. This is absolutely incorrect, because a small dog may produce a large offspring, and vice versa.

This term is incorrect along with others, such as pocket size, miniature, and tiny toy. There exists the only breed standard with differences in coat type only. If somebody offers you to sell a miniature dog of this breed, it is surely a fraud. These dogs are very sensitive both in terms of temperament and in terms of physical influence. They are intended for apartment life and should not be used as service dogs. Being the smallest dogs on earth, they make fine home companions and excellent therapy dogs.
