Baby Chihuahua
A baby chihuahua is rare in rescues and should be looked for from breeders.
Although these are low maintenance dogs, they appreciate company and need a lot of attention. They eat very little, but the payments for vet may be very high. You have to learn much about the breed and how to care for the dog. After careful consideration, you've decided that this is the right dog for you. Now you should choose a breeder very carefully, because the health and behavior of the dog depends on the breeder greatly. You may get names of breeders through referrals or visit a local club.

Baby Chihuahua -
rescues, breeders
The ideal weight for show quality dogs is 4-6 pounds, but dogs over 9 pounds also exist. Many fanciers want to own a very small dog of this breed, but they should remember that such animals might have genetic disorders and require extra care. They are susceptible to fractures and head injuries, especially dogs with unclosed moleras. All puppies are born with a molera – a soft spot on top of the skull that usually closes by the time the dog matures. However, in some cases, moleras remain open for lifetime.
