Tiny Teacup Chihuahua
A tiny Teacup Chihuahua is not actually a variety of the breed, but a term invented to sell very small dogs at a greater price. The standard size Chihuahua is already the smallest dog breed in the world, but many profit-oriented breeders produce even smaller puppies and sell them to impulsive buyers who want to own very small dogs. As a rule, Teacup Chihuahuas are bought as a matter of prestige or fashion. Their owners are not usually interested in the dog’s personality and special care needs. They just want to own a cute little creature.
The tiny Teacup Chihuahua, like all other dog breeds, has its specific personality. Prior to purchasing a pet of any breed, the buyer has to learn much on its personality, trainability, exercise needs, health, feeding requirements, and all possible problems. A Teacup Chihuahua can be called a big dog in a small body. These little creatures are very individual. Their personality depends on many factors: amount of time and care the owner gives to the dog; the owner’s ability to socialize and train the dog; the breeder’s efforts to produce healthy and stable puppies, and many others. Teacup Chihuahuas may be easy-going and friendly or territorial and suspicious to strangers.
The main problem with training and socializing a tiny Teacup Chihuahua is that most owners see no point in it, because a little dog can do no harm, even if it behaves very badly. It’s a common mistake of many Teacup Chihuahua owners who treat their dogs like hamsters and other non-canine pets and allow them to do everything they want to. It results in a manipulative, dominating, and aggressive dog with destructive tendencies. Problematic behavior in adult dogs can be corrected only by experienced trainers, but it’s possible to prevent such problems by giving a puppy early socialization and obedience training.
A tiny Teacup Chihuahua is very people-oriented and communicative. It needs to be around people and should not be left alone. These tiny creatures are very fragile and vulnerable. Their small size and short coat make them susceptible to catching cold. A tiny Teacup Chihuahua should be fed small, but frequent meals.
